This notice explains how Drivn Limited of 20 Craven Avenue Ealing, London, England, W5 2SX (“Drivn”, “we”, “us”), which provides the Fidero service, uses personal data about the people we contact, in their business role, to tell them about Fidero. Drivn is the controller of that data.
Contacting us
For anything about this notice or your personal data, email hello@fidero.com or reply to any email we have sent you.
What we hold about you
Your name, job title and work email address.
Your LinkedIn profile address, where our data provider returns one.
The company you work for and its website domain.
Whether your email address passed our deliverability check.
A record of the emails we have sent you, any replies you sent and what we decided as a result (for example, not to contact you again).
We also research your company’s public website before we contact you. That research is about the company, not about you.
Where your personal data comes from
We look up business contacts one at a time, for companies we have already researched and chosen to contact, using two business-contact data providers: Surfe (name, job title, LinkedIn profile) and Anymail Finder (work email address and its deliverability check). We do not buy or rent mailing lists.
What we use it for, and our lawful basis
We use your details to contact you, in your business role, about what we have seen on your company’s website and how Fidero could help. We contact you by email, in a short sequence of messages, and occasionally send a LinkedIn connection request.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). Our interest is telling businesses about a service relevant to the work they do. We contact only people whose role relates to what we offer, at companies where we have found something specific to say, and we stop as soon as you ask.
We choose whom to contact from their job title and their company’s characteristics. We do not make any decision about you by automated means that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
Your right to object
You can object at any time to our using your personal data for direct marketing, and we will stop. You do not need to give a reason or use any particular words. A reply such as “please stop” is enough. When you object, we delete your details as set out in section 7 and keep only your email address on a suppression list, so that we never contact you again.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with these service providers:
Surfe and Anymail Finder, to find and verify your work contact details.
Google, which hosts our email and our encrypted backups.
Attio, which hosts our customer relationship management system.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK (Google in the United States, for example). Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the provider’s data transfer safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as we may reasonably contact you about Fidero.
If you ask us to stop, we delete your name, email address, LinkedIn profile and our record of the emails we exchanged within 48 hours, keeping only your email address on our suppression list. Those details are gone from our backups after the next nightly backup.
Your job title can remain in our research notes about your company, without your name or contact details.
If you become a customer, or start a conversation with us about working together, we keep the details that conversation needs for as long as it continues.
Your other rights
As well as the right to object, you have the right to:
ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
ask us to correct it if it is wrong
ask us to delete it
ask us to restrict how we use it
complain to us about how we have handled your personal data (section 164A Data Protection Act 2018)
complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113). If you live in the European Economic Area, you can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
